Another after work quick-hunt today. A township hall established in 1905. Guys..the indian was on top of the ground !! Got a strong signal and looked down. There it was half-way out of the gravel. The greener side of the obverse was the exposed half. The barber was about 4 feet away and only 3 inches down !!! Did'nt have my camera dammit..of course. Actually it's my wife's and she took it to work. Had to wait until she got home to snap photos. This weekend is off to a good start....:super:

Wow, McDave! Awesome job, sounds like a good site you found for yourself! I can't believe the Indian was on TOP of the ground! That, plus the Barber at only 3", plus the age of the site suggest you have a lot more findin' to do there!

Nice going Dave and congrats on #17.:clapping: Is that a digging tool scratch on that Barber? GL & HH on your next outing. I finally get to go swing a coil tomorrow morning and then Sunday it's back to my son's place and get that darn playhouse finished. Hope to have a coin or two to post and a picture of the finished playhouse.

Eddie...it does look like a fresh scratch. My problem is that I try to dig the smallest hole possible, and sometimes that is the end result.

Steve, the area that can be hunted at this spot is rather small. Everything else has been paved over. After I dug those two coins it was nothing but beer and pop cans, and bottlecaps. Hopefully I can squeeze a few more out.
 
try and dig nothing larger then about six inches across. I also carry a towel to put any extra dirt from the hole on and when I'm done you can't even tell that I was there. Being as discreet as possible is the way to go and it will only help preserve our great hobby. Glad that you are a concerned detectorist like myself and others as we all should be. HH.
