Man, I cant believe the run I'm havin. Only had a few minutes in between jobs so I hit my favorite old park where I'm pounding this real trashy area. Tons of tabs, beaver tails, foil, screw tops ect. Was using my 5" SunRay coil again (love that beast!) and I get a deep penny signal that was broken because of the junk, but I figured it was a deep wheatie. I still havent quite got the meter figured out yet because alot of times it reads deeper that the target is. Anyway, I dig down 5 inches, nothin. Probe down w the SunRay and now the tone is higher like a dime. I keep digging, and I probe again at 7 inches and now the tones is like silver, almost completely upper right corner (I love that spot!). Now I'm getting excited..I carefully dig around the sides and scoop it out and dump the handfull on the pile and this 1920 Merc was starin up at me. I think it was on edge or even tilted because of the sound it was making. I couldnt believe that coil got that dime almost 8 inches down! The hilt of my Leshcee digger was just below the surface. Thats the deepest coin I've gotten so far w my Explorer and with a 5" coil no less! I started really slowing down more and listening even more closely.
