Silver???? It didn't stick to a magnet...

Pete in MI

New member
I went out with intentions of going water detecting behind a motel. Owner wasn't available at the time so left my card...then drove down the road dropping off cards with several other motels and campgrounds around the lake area.

Got to the township park the the porta-john looked inviting so I visited it and then grabbed the detector out of the van and went around the playground equipment. Didn't get anything.

I usually don't try around the picnic tables because I figure that's where all the trash and pull tabs accumulate more than anywhere else.

The two tables that are usually end to end were pulled apart so checked in beween them. Only got 2 pennies (a Mem and a Canadian) and then another signal that turned out to be this:

At first I thought it was stainless steel but a magnet doesn't stick to it...so..unless it is food grade stainless steel (which a magnet doesn't stick to) then I guess it is silver? Can't imagine anyone using aluminum in a mouth.

Someone sure caught heck I am sure for losing this.

Anyway 2 pennies and retainer. Wonder if they charge for lost and found ads in the newspaper.

Oh the other day I saw this character...a couple times recently:

Not the best pic but its a red headed woodpecker.

He was outside the kitchen window.

Well, that is another first for me...orthodontal find

silver wouldn't have the wear characteristics for a retainer. From the engineering department. Different find.

it is made from a type of stainless steel. My son has one!

down at the park to let people know if they are looking for it they can get it back...like what do I want to collect these items for???

Hopefully the parent of the one who lost it will see the sign. Think they charge in the newspaper for Lost and Found items. I think found items listed should be free. Oh well JMHO.
