silver prices

Today if you have 12 silver dimes they are worth about $47.88. When was it that this same thing happened and a lot of the silver coins were melted down and sold as bullion?

In 1980 when the Hunt Brothers cornered the silver market with prices rising to about $49 in 1980 money.

About 2 yrs ago I bought 100 silver rosies from Richards at backwoods for 95 bucks.....those same dimes today are worth $350 not a bad investment!

about 10 years ago when silver prices were real low and still stagnant i used to help out at a coin shop and if they didnt want certain things i got a chance to buy at dealer prices, i bought hundreds of mercury dimes for 30 cents each....man what a sweet deal that turned out to be, i mean that was a great deal then, i thought......hindsight is 20/20..too bad foresight isnt.
