silver quarter dry spell is OVER!!!!!!

I know in its own right this is not a spectacular find but to me it represents an end to a LONG dry spell. Embarassing as it is, it has been probably at least 4 years or more since a have found a silver quarter. I have found many dimes from roosies to seated and even have a walking half but the quarter has been hiding.

Well, my wife's uncle has been wanting me to take him out hunting so we went to a local park I have pounded many times with the Explorer XS and SE Pro. Weather was bad, rained all last night and was threatening today but we did get a little window of time in the cold. I was only finding some clad when about 2 hours into the hunt in an area I have been over MANY times I get that sweet sound. Read a solid 12-47 on the E-Trac but it never crossed my mind that it would be a quarter because I just dont find those:wacko:

From 7 inches down comes this beauty. Thanks E-trac!!!!!!!!!!

A few years ago I realized that I hadn't found a Standing Liberty Quarter for a really long time (like nearly 10 years). I stopped by an old park in a little itty bitty town on the way back from an all day road trip. Picked up an good, but deep, signal from one direction. Took a plug and from about 7" came a SLQ and a wheatie and what I thought was the remnant of a steel penny. Corroded beyond recognition, but stacked with the other two coins.

I had a sense of relief when it came up. Had been way too long.

Thanks for the pic.
