This is the second one of these I have found, both at old sites. The one in the photo was found recently, before el freezo East Coasto rolled in. They were both found at old sites.
They are two piece whatzits. The back has four fold- over pieces to combine the front and back.
This one has a nice redish tinge to it.
At first I knew what they were, then I was sure I was wrong, now I'm simply back to not knowing. They are well formed. Would the group of forum detectorists add insight, expert opinion, or well informed guesses. aloha, the muckster
