Well it is working!!!
No Pot O' Gold today, just a 1967 Quarter, a cool key, and that 50 cent tin coin...

Well, if it makes you feel any better, you could have been me, . All I got was a lot of exercise, a sunburn, a horseshoe, and this unidentified object which is probably either: a). A prospector's tool or b). a surveyors rod or c). Sir Lancelot's Jousting Lance. It's iron, about 6 1/2 feet long, flattened oval and tapers to a point at one end. Info appreciated if anyone knows.

I decided to see if I could find the ranch that many of the locals hid out at during some indian massacres that occured on June 5, 1885. A miner ran like 6 miles to warn the ranchers, and most of them high-tailed it to the Stewart ranch to make a stand (they escaped attack). I didn't have a location on the ranch, but as the Contintinental Divide Trail goes right past the peak named for them, I figured I'd hike in and see if I could find it. NOT. 5 hours of hiking (some of which was exploring the area and poking around for gold in the washes). I actually enjoyed the hike and it was 70 degrees, so all good, just would have been nice to find a coin or a token or ????

I do think it sucks that you found funny money two days in a row, grrrrr.

The key has the flag of Puerto Rico on it. I think the rod is a mining pry bar.

They can be quite collectable, as the mintage and circulation is very low. I have found that same US play coin up here a few years back.
