Listed in Thomas P. Terry's United States Treasure Atlas, volume 5,under Ontonagon County,#9-"Flintsteel,at the mouth of the Fire Steel River on Lake Superior,71/2 milesNE Ontonagon"...nothing left to see of the town, just the Fire Steel River as it makes its way to Lake Superior-CRYSTAL CLEAR;so warm-both Lake Superior and the river;people-and dogs-were swimming in them-85 degrees, not a cloud in the sky,not a black fly or mosquito in sight...MY vision of EDEN on earth...

looks like a place to go! :)

Lovely scenery.....did you metal-detect there? Looks like a good spot to find stuff if there are a lot of waders and swimmers! :)

God Bless!
