...goin to the U.P.this summer-DONT know why;but Copper Harbor is my #1 favorite place in the whole world...I got on Weathernet today,clicked on the weathercam for Eagle Harbor,which is about 15 miles;I believe,as the crow flies from Copper Harbor...The camera looks west out over Lake Superior-Temp?-8 degrees-below zero- How did Lake superior look??Dont know-the camera was recording TOTAL WHITE-OUT CONDDITIONS... There's a camera at Copper Harbor.com website,too...Same conditions as Eagle Harbor...YEP-my FAVORITE place in the world...

Did I say warm??WELL;It IS a little on the cool side...when I was up there the last time in'99,it was SO HOT! The black flies and mosquitoes could almost carry you away...They go in cycles;so maybe this year will be the year their numbers drop....I remember being out in the water detecting up there-The black flies would land on your legs just above the water line,and drill away...NO;didnt have waders-I went out looking for a ghost town on Lake Superior then,too...Had to take a short-cut thru a patch of woods to get to the Lake...By the time I got back to my truck;I had blood running down my face;arms and legs(had shorts on)....Thats how bad they were-I had insect repellent on;too-I think it attarcted them...
