Size threshold of detection on small poorly conductive metal......

Art (NWOH)

New member
This may or may not be of value to anyone.

Following a lengthy exchange with Grubstake, got to thinking about trying to define where the target size gets involved with the Sov for detecting lower conductivity metal.

Went with lead.

In the pic from left to right.....
#2 shotgun pellet 5.5 grains........forget it.
.177 pellet 9 grains......borderline.
.22 pellet 14 grains......easily detectable, but not very far.
.25 buckshot 24 grains....much easier to detect, but nothing like rings and coins.
