small nugget detection?

Im looking to buy a detector thast will detect
very small nuggets,how does the P.I. machines compare to say a goldbug II or tesoro LST for small stuff?
The largest nugget Ive found panning is about the
size of a grain of rice,so you can see I will need
a good detector with a small coil.

Hi Chuck,
Even the best PI on the market will not approach the Goldbug 2 for sensitivity to very small nuggets or flakes. 0.4gm is about the smallest one could achieve with the Goldquest, maybe at 4in with a 6in coil. This would also depend very much on the purity of the gold and its shape. The Goldbug will detect a 0.08gm nugget at a couple of inches in air.
