Smaller coil any better on gold?

For those of you who have a smaller coil for your E-Trac does it do any better on smaller gold like earrings, pendents and chains?

I've tested a lot of gold on my E-Trac with the stock 11" coil and it's not real impressive on the smaller gold. It does great on rings even smaller ones, but can't see a thing when I test some of my earrings, pendents and chains. For this reason I keep my AT Pro for all but hunting in our city park where the E-Trac is king of deep. I'd like to use my E-Trac for all my hunting If I could only get it to see the smaller gold. This is gold I've found with either my DFX or AT Pro. I'm just curious if a smaller coil will do any better. When I had my Tesoro Compadre and Silver uMax they actually weren't very good on smaller gold either unless I ran the small coil.

I use a small 6" coil and have had great luck with it. I like to hunt with it anyway as it is better in high trash, eaiser to pinponit with and I don't need great depth if I'm looking for jewelry,I still get about 8". I haven't found any gold chains yet and no gold earings.I recently found a real nice 14k men's wedding band using a SEF 12x 15 coil. Good luck!,
