SNAKES! downunder.

Hello guys, some of us have talked about snakes and other wonderful creatures that us detectorists have to put up with. So I thought I'd send you some photos, so that you'll get an idea.
Story: This snake was caught on an electric fence on a sheep & cattle station near the NSW town of Nyngan. Some tourists on holidays came across the snake caught in an electric fence, being continually shacked, and getting very angry! The group wondering what to do, decided to divert the current, cut the wire and let the snake go! (They ARE protected!) When the property owner found out, he went ballistic, besides being upset about his fence, the snake had been eating lambs in the area, and he'd been trying to track it down for ages. Australians are used to a big snake or two, but have a look at this fella!!

Well, I found out the true story. It did happen, but not here in Australia, but in South Africa (might have to go back to my source and let him know!) So we don't want to effect our tourist industry, so keep coming out to Australia, but now it's South Africa you have to worry about. I stil hope the photos had the desired effect!

That's one big a$$ snake!

I could be wrong, and I don't mind be corected on this, but it look like a carpet python to me, well, like the ones in Australia. Some keep them as pets. I have a friend who has a boa and a diamond python, not as big as the one in the photo. I used to love playing with his python, and giving it mice to eat. Don't mind snakes at all, but like to stay away from the tigers. They're where I like going to detect!
