Snipers In The Grass

Has anyone compared the Garrett 4.5" round sniper coil against the Nel 3.5" X 6.5" Snake coil?

I search the sand, and I have mineralized ground here.

Thanks kozman,... good to know.

How about getting near the metal poles in playgrounds?
Is there any reason to have a 4.5" Garrett on hand?

I have never yet found a better coil for hunting in tot lots along the equipment, along chain link fences or sidewalks other then the 4.5 sniper coil. It outperforms the 5 x 8 in getting close to the equipment.

One thought here that works for me besides the coil choice is to not swing your coil to or in front of a metal object but push and pull toward it when close so you can control the response a little better. Not saying I am correct but it works better for me on all coils.

The 4.5 Sniper is also GREAT for finding lost rings between ceiling joists in insulation. Heck, my BIG NEL will not even fit between the joists.
In the attic, I notched the ATPro for the rings metal and BINGO twice!
I have also found gold in heavy vegetation where larger coils can not be swung, pushed or pulled. It is great for separation and tight areas were you can not swing a larger coil.
