Snorkeling question

Does anyone here do any detecting using snorkeling gear? If so do you have any tips or pointers that might be helpful?

Taking breaths and bobbing up and down is tireing!!! BUT if you stay shallow where you can fan your hand and get the target without feeling like a fishing bobber, you can get a lot of good items. I snorkel the shallow areas and dive when I feel like I have to bob. A word of caution. If you do go deeper and bob, BE careful when getting your target. In sand you WILL get glass, bottle tops on the bottle BUT most the bottle is gone, and other sharp objects. Don't try to get your target in one breath. It can lead to injuries.

Also a weight belt will help you stay down when you are on the bottom fanning the sand,or you could use your foot to fan and then dive down to check it out.

but he got the job done. OHH and I have NEVER fanned hard enough to knock a gold ring out of the hole!!!! LOL I love seeing the ourline of it when its still there and I GRAB fast!! No idea why, not like its going anywhere! He was in beautiful sand also. LOL I have that in a few spots but I am blessed with muck in others. But I am in Michigan and not in Florida. I went there two winters ago, never found a cut. after 3 weeks I came home with 688 coins and one gold ring. Beautiful water!

Do not forget your PDF . I use a manual . From BassPro shop. There are many types some designed just for snorkeling. It's surprising after hunting a couple of hours how tired you can get. If you get dragged off a ledge and you're not wearing fins how hard it is to tread water for the five or 10 min. it may take you hard work get back to that 5 foot water. Beach shoes cut the resistance of the water and make it very difficult to swim.
Just be safe there some productive spots right on the ledges from four foot to six-foot heavier stuff collects their and snorkeling can be an excellent way to find the spots.
