Snorkeling with the Deus XP

You wouldn't be able to wear headphones so you'd have to be able to see the receiver and numbers aren't the best indicator to go by.
 
If you buy a QUALITY and I repeat QUALITY case designed for iPod's to be used when swimming or waveboarding, the pouch comes with a waterproof headphone jack through the pouch. They also have some that come with waterproof earbud style headphones and this rig does in fact work when snorkeling.

For what you have invested, buying a $10 setup off the Internet direct from China is a sure fire way to be back in the market for a new detector . . . .

If anyone wants to see the rig I use when in neck deep+ water, let me know.
