Great Republic

My sixth copper this season. I love finding these things as beat as they are.
The field dates from the 1670's and this is my first outing there.
The copper is a 1795 North Wales Halfpenny. There is also a bag seal from the NYC
RR and an old buckle. Thanks for looking.GR The image on top is what I wished it looked like. http://www.coins.nd.edu/ColCoin/ColCoinImages/Washingtons17-On/Baker-34.rev.jpg

Nice finds there Great Republic.:clapping: I'm heading out at 7:30 this morning myself to a club hunt. This is a planted hunt, but there is always the possibility to find something that wasn't planted. HH.

Thought that first one was what you found....And you were saying it was beat...:) Nice finds!

The coin is really hiding the details with the crud, but it appears by the current photos you posted, that the coin is a King George III IRISH Halfpenny. The Bust appears to be facing to the right as a KGIII does and the lettering that I think I see matches up to a KGIII, the Reverse with the Harp appears the letter I is at the correct position for HIBERINIA.

I don't know for sure Don but I'm soaking it now. and I'm going to take it to my coin dealer and have him check it out. I'll keep you posted.Thanks.GR

Had a good time at the hunt. No old stuff found, but one fellow from another club found a nice mans 14kt gold ring with six rubies. This was a planted hunt and I was a little disappointed that more people didn't help plant the coins. While some of us were busting our butts planting, the rest were taking it easy sitting around b/s-ing. I got to tell you after planting over 300 nickels and then going back out for the hunt my legs were killing me this morning. Maybe our out of town hunt the end of this week will be more productive as far as old coins go. HH.
