So Garrett has a new website and a mine detector. But.......

Are they going to go another year pumping the GTI 2500 as their flag ship machine? Garrett needs some new machines.

take care HH

They could ride the Ace 250 wave once again by adding a GB feature. Simply replace one mode with GB adjustable with the + or _ buttons. Add some DD coils and once again they would have to build another building.

They certainly do, Fisher has come out with a bunch of new ones. Soon Garrett will be sucking hind tit if they don't get on the ball.. Besides I need a new toy or two to field test. :)

That's true and I have suggested that. If they would come out with multiple adjustable frequencies, from say 5 khz to 50 khz, so one could hunt for anything anywhere and they wouldn't be able to make them fast enough - plus what you mentioned.

How about a true all metal mode on the 250? This way when we switch the frequency to 50 kHz we could pick up gold the size of a flake of pepper!

First, let me say that no manuafacturer has better customer support than Garrett. I bought a new 1500, then traded up for a 2500 to have the allmetal relic mode. I used it daily until I realized how much this detector was misidentifying targets and plain missing others. Disappointed, I sold the 2500 and purchased a Minelab Explorer SE, later adding a Nautilus 2Ba, and I have found that both of them work better for me when relic hunting, and the Explorer also works better at coin hunting. I have no ulterior motive to complain about the 2500 other than voicing my disappointment at the 2500's performance in the field (even in low mineralized soil). I do not sell detectors, but own the 2 machines mentioned, plus a white's MXT, DFX and a Fisher CZ20. I like all machines that work well, regardless of Brand, and I find that the 2500 just doesn't cut it. That is only my humble opinion, of course. Feel free to disagree. However, I do believe Garrett needs a new flagship!

That's what I said. GB ( fast track and manual ) with multiple frequency. The perfect detector. Don't know why they can't design one like that.

I'm sure there working on something there at that new building they have. Geez look at that new PI just came out. That took some engineering. Unfortunalty its not for sale to the general public. I definately want a new flagship detector from Garrett. Ive used a lot of machines and the GTI 2500 all metal mode is deeper than most. A MXT I used in California seemed to handle hot ground better while prospecting. I think for some reason the disc mode in the GTI's suffer depth in hot ground. It is good in air but I get poor performance sometimes while using it in disc mode. But I havent hunted in ground that grnd balances below 9.5 in awhile. The last time I did was a empty lake in georgia that grnd bal around 6. Then I was getting great depth in disc mode. Like a pulltab at 10 inches and the imaging was just that...size B 10 inch. But in hotter ground disc mode suffers. Maybe the new flagship Garrett will be multiple freq, better grnd bal in hot ground, expanded Imaging features. Cant wait..in the mean time I got to get out in this wet Oregon weathter with my Infinium to see how she does.
