So much for the Experience Works and for working at the ReStore...

Pete in MI

New member
Because of my surgery, it is not til around Dec 1 (maybe) I will be able to work.
In the meantime, the work I was doing at the ReStore through Experience Works is gone. They did not want me back until I was fully healed - both from the surgery and my shoulder injury. I had requested a week and a half leave which ran out the 29th so I am not even in the Experience Works program now either.,....terminated under 'medical exit'. Good for them - no help to me.

The ReStore is moving to another location so they need someone who can do lifting and moving - that leaves me out. Experience Works has no other place they can put me either.
No income for the next 30 days or more. I also have a job interview coming up for production work but I may lose it if I cannot do the job, or not ready to get back to work soon enough or I fail to pass the drug testing because of all the Vicodin I have been taking.

Good thing I am getting mileage to/from the VA hospitals and clinics or we'd have no money this month at all. God will continue to meet our needs.

There is one thing I will be checking into once I can go back to work - this might help Boomer's Dad (Steve) - there are places looking for people to assist the elderly such as driving them to appointments, helping clean around their homes, cooking for them, etc. That might be my next line of work if this production job is lost for anything.

Sherry has already ended her seasonal job too.

Just keeping ya up do date on the fun in our lives

Hi Pete; Just Kidding. I know how yu feel. I'm sorry to hear that. i will pray for you. I'm in a lot of the same boat as well. I don't know how I'm going to make it either. My Surgeon said it will be another 6 - 8 WEEKS. before I can even think about working again. i did see the X-Rays and God I look like an Erector Set. It's scary My ENTIRE spine is now all metal. I'm trying to figure out how to feed the Family and pay the bills to. So I do know how you feel. But we can not lose sight of God.!!!! If we do then we are really lost. so hang in there ok. It will work out somehow. May God Bless You and all Yours. PEACE:RONB :wiggle:

Sorry about the awful condition you both are in due to surgeries! But cheer up and PRAY in faith and I will tell you without a doubt, that God will with His Holy Spirit tell those who have the financial means to help you and, by their listening to the urging of His Holy Spirit, some people will send and help you financially! Many are suffering in one way or another, but Jesus is our only hope in an economy like ours has become! The only thing those with illnesses and/or without jobs can do is lean on and trust in Jesus and then stand by faith and see Him move in your lives, but patience is the key...He tries our patience to see how firm a foundation our faith in Him has! I know words are easy to say and wriite, but remember I've been through many, many very difficult times, physcially, spiritually, emotionally and financially and I've come a long way in trusing in my Lord! Praise God in all things and He will take care of you! His many blessings are for His own faithful servants, although He will bless others through our prayers! May God bless and meet every need, for He is more than able! Amen! :;angel: Ma Betty

Barker, you can't fall apart because you have too much metal and strong bolts....you are more like a Robot! :) May God Bless with quick healing and far less pain that you have been having to deal with! Amen! Ma Betty

Well, Barker, you are smarter than me....didn't think of Ron-Bot, but you are correct or the Six Million $ man like on TV years ago...maybe you can zoom instead of run when you are well and able to go! ;) :) Ma Betty

Hi Pete, I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods but, here in Kent County, there are a number of 'Food Trucks' in the area that the unemployed or low income people can go to for food stuffs. Is there anything like that down your way? It's too bad all you guys, in your situation, can't pool your knowledge, experience, financial ability, and start a business of your own. Food for thought.

Sherry actually had a business of her own for 8 years.....then she had a stroke and could no longer do the business.
