Hey Guys;
I have been reading about many people with problems where their machine turns itself off when in use, and I have had the same problem. For me it would happen when I would put the machine down to dig a target, maybe too much tension on the headphone cable. I figure the jack is messing with the wires inside the machine and if I can just reduce the depth a bit, it may help.
Today I took a small ballon, like one for water balloon fights, and cut the end off and slipped that over the headphone jack and pushed it all the way down the the shoulder. I went out detecting for 4 hours and not one problem! Now I realize that this is not a long term solution, but it works for me and may work for others.
I will post a picture of the jack and my finds later, just wanted to let you know if anyone else wants to try it. Maybe a small rubber band wound around a few times would work the same.
