Some civil war bullets I found

One is a 69caliper , the one with the huge ram rod mark is around 50 caliper and the othe three are a little under 50 caliper. I have found around 10 or fifteen so far in this field and two pocket knives. I will post pictures of the rest of my finds some other day. Thanks for looking.
 
I have found many of them over the years and never get tired of the next one coming out of the dirt. They are a great part of history. Digging CW relics is one of my favorite things to dig!
 
Very nice finds. That 69 cal sure would put a guy down. They did make one larger - 72 cal. I dug one in Louisiana. Be sure to post other finds of CW stuff, love it. Steve in so az

Sure thing DK right now is the best time though as the grass is not as high. I have a buddy that has a better place to hunt . There was a little battle there we may go there.
 
I GUESS YOU'NS DON'T HAVE MUCH SNOW AND ICE DOWN THERE. WE HAVE ABOUT 2" OF SNOW ON TOP OF ABOUT AN INCH OF ICE ON TOP OF FROZEN GROUND. I CAN'T EVEN DIG THIS WEATHER LET ALONE THE GROUND. LOL

LOOKING FORWARD TO COMING DOWN AND DOING SOME RELIC DIGGING WITH YOU. NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE BUT LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
 
I am looking forward to it also. I just got started in it a few months ago. And I am hooked bad. Now instead of looking at old houses and thinking about coins I am looking at fields and wondering if civil war soldiers went through it.
 
Great Finds Mike! Say ... that 69 cal appears to have rifling marks and that wouldn't be possible with CW weapons would it?

Some rifles did have rifling , but I do not see any on this 69 caliper. I know enfields have three grooves if fired.
