Some days are Diamonds.....Some days are stones

You ever feel like one day you can get good stuff bam bam bam one right after the other, but then other days you can barely even get clad?

I can relate that as I went nearly 3 months with no silver coins, after an outstanding August of 4 hammered coins. 4 milled pre Victoria (pre1830ish) and 3 Victoria on. No reason - same land - just luck had deserted me. stick at it. Glad my personal hex was broken in style a few weeks ago.

I was out today for about 5 hours and got about $1.06 in clad but I had fun and the weather was in the 40's. I was mostly excited about trying my Pistol Probe for the first time out. I would've stayed out longer but I have to move a little more stuff into my new place and assemble a computer desk which usually as a rule with me takes longer than usual. I think maybe if I drink some beers it might help me with the instructions. :beers:

I don't know how or why it happens but it does. One day you could be raking in some really nice Deep Keepers and you just can't believe it and then the next day you return to the same site and your lucky to even get a Wheatie or a Silver Dime. In fact, that just happened to me this Fall not too long ago. Remember my last post with the 12 Silver. Well, I got the 10 Silver in about 2 hours (7 of them within 20 minutes) and the next day, I could only scratch up a Wheatie and another Silver Roosevelt Dime and I worked for about 2 hours or so freezing my butt off but I just couldn't swing the Coil over top of anything Deeper. It could have been due to the light breeze that was present along with temp's in the upper 20's to lower 30's and the snow flurries but then again, I should have been able to put the Coil over top of more Deep Keepers that day but didn't.

Maybe it's fate or possibly a Reality Check from time to time from a greater power to wake those that are doing so well up and tell them that they have had their fair share of the finds and it's time to have a bad outing. Wish I knew because those days that were not to be any good, then I wouldn't work so hard and almost blow a blood vessel.:ranting: Oh well, it's still fun getting out and detecting but it sure is a lot more fun when your pouch is filling up with Old Keepers. Good Luck and HH N2Treasure.

I know what you mean James, it never fails to amaze me when I can be on fire one day and the next day, same time, same area, same everything, can't find a single thing. I guess its just the law of averages. All and all, I feel like I've had a great year, even better than last year so I guess I shouldn't complain. After all, a bad day huntin is always better than a good day workin!

the amount of pounding most of the parks take around here...you just never know. Some days stuff pops out...but other days...you wander around wondering whether or not you remembered to turn the machine on:bouncy:
