Some early Deus action

I got one of the first Deus in the USA. I believe in March 2012. Most of the colonial silver in this photo I found with the Deus and another detector.

Hi George
I think you are right I remember you first getting the Deus.

Your right M8. Hope your well my Friend!

Actually, a few of us got them back in late 2010 to early 2011. Imported them straight from XP before the US distributor was in place by summer of 2011.

mrwilburino,

I likewise bought mine straight from the factory (Alain and Nathelie) in April 2011. DrJoePrime from the Long Beach area in So Cal also got a "factory" purchase before me. I think that I was told that mine was either the 5th or the 6th one sold to the US. It has been one of the best detectors I have ever owned. I would have had it earlier but waited to get the "new" 13 inch coil that was just being released as an option. Mine also came with the slide mount for the controller instead of the magnet mount.

Hi Joe. Mine was the slide mount also. Not many know that the control box was once held on by a magnet. Yes, I remembered that you and DrJoePrime were two of the early owners. There were two others that I know of; one was another Californian who still has some old Deus videos on YouTube under the name of "bayareasearcher." The other was a Texan who only posted a few times on one of the UK forums. Nigel Regton, the UK distributor, once said that Alain told him that five machines were sold from the factory to US buyers back then, so that may account for all of them. Mine is still going strong - no battery change needed yet. XP really builds a high-quality machine.

So my first one had a magnet. The pic. was taken in 2012. My memory fades as I have owned three. Either or we sure made the right choice!

January 2011.. I remember the date very well! A beautiful machine. Batteries still going strong with no indication of slowing down. I have the 9", 11" and 13" and will get the new coil when out.

The magnet still pulls OK ...But I have a safety tie on there too!

Joe

Bought From Big Boys Feb. 2012. My second was used and had the magnetic lock.

My batteries are still good enough for a day's hunt. I just had my second rotator cuff surgery on Monday and just like the last time, I am glad that I have the Deus to start back with.

Hi Joe, glad you have joined this post. (Joe and I have been able to detect a few times while I was on vacation in So Cal) The Deus has been a great machine for all kinds of detecting. Glad to hear your batteries are still holding a charge. I am with you on the new coil when it come out. Joe

PS I will have a new shoulder in Dec when I am back out to visit my daughter. Hopefully we can get in a hunt or two.
