Some finds from this autum

Heelgrasper

New member
I might be able to get out and pick up a little more but I figured I would post some (most) of the good finds this autum from my best field here in Denmark. There's some coins from the period 1771-1933 that I haven't included since I have no photos of them at hand. Just ask if you wonder what some of it is but there are a few things that I have no ID on yet. At present everything prior to 1536 is at the National Museum being evaluated.

Merry Christmas to all and good hunting

Wow those finds have alot of history. Merry Christmas to you also.

Nice ,Heelgrasper!

Believe me,Im out every day on the fields here in Sweden. The lack of older finds will soon take me to Gotland...suppose to be great finds there...:)
Heard they put up heavy duty lights there to lighten up the fields in the dark.Great

Thank you all.

So far it seems that the finds are in two groups. One with old finds from the Migration Period (roughly 400-800 AD) to late Viking Age/Early Medieval (around 1100 AD) and one with more recent finds from late 18th century onwards. The old finds relates to the 12th century church nearby where the village disappeared in medieval times (most likely before the black death) while the newer finds relate to the nearby farm built in the late 18th century. Still need to find something clearly medieval but all in good time.
