Found a few IH's ,a garter belt clip, and some military buttons ( I think ) mounted on a copper pin( I think that's what it is),,,not sure .I never saw anything like it .The Star button has the letters..SFGCP between the star points. If anyone knows what it is please let me know. The home were I was searching was built in the 1840's.

may be a GC&SF button but can't guarantee it for sure ... I found a little bit about the railroad company with a google search but nothing whatsoever about a button anywhere.
But ... that sure looks like a Texas Star to me and it would fit the railroad scheme, very typical to earlier period buttons dating back to the civil war.
Anyway ... nice finds.
