Some good finds ! :detecting:

Hunted a soybean field near an old Civil War Hospital house. I know that this description or term is used "loosely" in the detecting community but this one is very well documented. Some of the wood floors in the house still have a dark tint as evidence from ole sawbones doing what he could do with the injured. Anyway, we found some silver (1926 mercury dime, silver thimble, '42 war nickel) , spoon tip, whole spoon, a bit of CW lead, harmonica parts and this brass handle. ( I BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLY PART OF A BULLET MOLD HANDLE ) ?

My stepson was with me and I did not get a pic of his finds which i described above. Thanks. GOOD LUCK in 2013. CCH

Nice finds. The "handle" looks a lot like part of a pocket knife. Would have to see the edge to be sure. Just spitballing. Hard to tell from the picture. Looks to have a rivet hole on the one end.

keep on diggin'

Cool finds! Love hunting old homesites, they have lots of history in the ground. The hospital is a chilling reminder of what them soldiers went through. Very interesting.

Thanks for your response. I had thought about it being a pocket knife part but the brass is too heavy, too thick. I just dont think so. ??? To me, it more closely resembles a handle. Its also slightly curved as the pic doesnt give it enough justice. You can see more of it on youtube on my latest video i uploaded today. Regardless, Happy Holidays and wish you the best in 2013. Almost looks like the handle on a bleeder, just a guess.

More gooduns!
