Some good news I got last Sunday at church..

Pete in MI

New member
One of our Sisters in Christ works for an apartment complex in the nearby town. She said "What is the most exciting thing you can think of that could happen?" Didn't take a second to answer that. I said "Jesus is coming back and is here now and we're going home!" Well though that was about the most exciting thing I could think of it wasn't the excitement she wanted to tell me about. She said she needs my resume. Apparently the apartment complex she works for has several under the same company all the way down to Vassar, MI and all the way north of me to Gaylord, MI. She said they are looking for a full time maintenance guy and she has been filling their ears with the wonders of my talents. She said I would get at least 40 hours a week, have a company vehicle and other benefits. Now that is good news. God opens doors!!!!

Now keeping that in mind, my boss at the hotel took me aside and asked if I knew what was going on? I mentioned I know we are into the winter rates and things are getting tight so I know you would like me to cut back on hours and not spend money on repairs. (So far we had been scavaging from one room or another to keep other rooms open instead of spending money to keep all the rooms open.) He told me that within 6 days the bank is foreclosing on the hotel. It wasn't making enough money to keep it going and pay the mortgage so the bank is taking it. He did say in about a week and a half things would be better. I don't understand this. He said the bank is going to keep the hotel operating and he will be paid by the bank to manage it and he wants me to stay as the maintenance guy. He said that there would be money once the bank owns it to get things fixed that were put off...like the pool heater, light bulbs, exhaust fans, etc. He said in fact there would be so much work to do that he would hire another guy who works occassionally for him to help out. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out why a bank would invest any money into property that doesn't pay for itself.

So I can see the possibility of one door closing but God has lready opened another. Thank you Father.

Should I get the apartment maintenance position I'd be travelling the state...with detector in the vehicle. Vassar is fairly close to Warthog's place. I used to do a similar type work repair x-ray film processing machines. Always new things to see and friendly people to work with.

Again, thank you Father for knowing these things long before me and making provisions for me. Thank you. Thank you Jesus.

God is Good All the Time - All the Time, God is Good!

Go for the new job, Bro Pete, with all the provisions and travelling, as long as you can leave Sherry and she will be getting better or our Lord wouldn't have opened doors for you and also maybe He will lead you and Sherry to a better place for both your illnesses to be provided for while out there on the road, praying and talking to God, our Father, in Jesus' precious name!

Will you be getting ins coverage on the new job!? One thing to check into before accepting! I think your boss has gotten wind of, that you might be getting a new job, somehow, someway, and is trying to keep you by telling you the bank's plan when it hasn't even come to pass, as yet! Go with Jesus' blessings and pray for guidance in all things! Honor and glorify God in all that you do and He will take care of you, Sherry, Casey, Josh and the baby, your new granddaughter? SMILE! God is good to His own, who love, worship and obey Him!

God Bless!

will be getting more info Sunday when I meet with the Sister in Christ again. I believe the health insurance was one of the benefits. I am going to have to agree that God would not be cruel and offer me a cool job then make it so I can't take it to stay with Sherry. So agreeing that He will make her well and able to be self-sufficient while I travel and pay bills.

God bless

Pete

Sounds like God is answering your prayers -
Let us know how it all turns out!:clapping:

Pete - from my experience I surely would not have anything to do with the current work site if the new one became available. Things on the downhill slide usually keep on sliding. Good luck, Steve in so az

Sounds like this just might be a "God thing." And the lady at church even tracked you down to share the news/opportunity! Read Deuteronomy 28. Here are the first two verses:

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Sounds to me like this blessing came upon you and is trying to overtake you! Read the rest of the chapter to see what all those blessings are. Of course it isn't my choice to make, but if it was up to me, I think I'd pack up my detector and get ready to travel!!!

That sounds like great news! Keep us updated! :)

Steve and Lisa make very good points. Why work where things are falling apart around you and your employer has been less than honest in his dealings with you.
Personally I would say he has violated your trust and honor with that incident of the missing money.
