I talked with my wife tonite,she says her Co. is safe-They are goiong to start getting their chassis they build their buses on from another source-And that their previous supplier, whom has announced after July 31st they will no longer be building what my wife's co.needs,will NOT be allowed back in their plant for ANY reason!!!AND Ihad a talk with unemployment today,they said being that I am going to be under workers comp for my shoulder surgery after next Wednesday,I can send a letter to them,telling them my situation;and ask for a determination that my unemployment benefits be frozen until the time that I am released from my Dr.;then I can file a claim for unemployment from the Co. that is closing tomorrow,June 12th...AND if I sign a separation agreement to get the severance my Co. is offering(VERY LOW-Dont ask me.its too embarrasing!!!);they CAN NOT turn down my comp claim-I talked to the union lawyer about that-HE also said if I have ANY trouble with the comp provider,to call him,and he will be HAPPY
to "straighten it out"with them-He gave me his business card with his# on it to call him-We also qualify for the "no worker left behind" program,that pays$5 grand a year for 2 years for college course training-We have to go to Michigan Works!and register,and take tests to determine what kind of college training we are elegible for-WOW!!!GOOD NEWS!!!Praise HIM!!!
