Some goodies from Thursday...

These are from a site that has been giving up goodies for about 6 years for me. It's only about 5 miles from home. So when gas goes up this is where I go.
Thought the ring was real when I dug it but it's not. bummer. Got my 3rd telephone token(the token with the slot in it). They are all made by Geotz. Another transit token(lots of these around here). 1901 indian and a 1935 merc. The scroll thingy has what looks like Hebrew on it. Not sure what it's for. No signs of a pin or hooks...???

The Indian head cent and Merc are both nice looking and that ring is a real fooler. In 10 years of detecting I've never found a telephone token but plenty of transit tokens. The one you found is from South Bend, IN circa 1946. The scroll item is very neat and looks to be a Torah scroll. I hope someone can translate it and let us know what it says and what it was used for. Nice finds and continued success!

Man Neal you are having a good year. Any day you come away with a few oldies is a good hunt. Those old places dont ever seem to stop producing if you have to time and patience.

Good stuff Neal.

I had a few parks like that too that have given up stuff for 30 years...but they are now punking me out:rolleyes:

Good finds man!!!!!!!

I'm not jewish and can't read hebrew, but that scroll thing is probably a torah charm of some sort. (a serious torah used in a synagogue for ceremonial purposes is usually in scroll form rather than being a book, from what I've seen)
