I am looking for advice on weather to get a pulse induction machine or something like an excal. I will be hunting water only because i have a machine already for dry/wet sand. The beaches i will be hunting will be new england. Mostly MA and NH. Any help on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

I have had PI machines and they do exactly what they are designed for. That being said I prefer the Excallibur hands down. If the beaches you hunt are not trashy a PI machine is great otherwise in my opinion you will do better with the Excall. HH :minelab:

An excel is a great detector but, it will not go as deep as my Sea hunter or sand shark . I have been hunting for 35 years and have owned all kinds of detectors and one thing I have found out is with a PI detector you dig a lot of trash but, you don't miss any Gold that the excel will miss. I love hunting an area that someone just hunted with an excel and showing them what they missed.

I have decided that my next machine will be an Excal if that helps any.

not all excal users are the same + the beach i'm hunting its not made for a PI unit ,, i have tried and its a pain

some excal users say they cant find chains i have found 7 or so past year

I use a Surf PI Pro now and love it! I have to admit I am thinking of going with an Excal as I sometimes wish I could discriminate out some things.

Thanks Lee!! Haven't seen you on the beach this season? Of course i have not been getting out as much myself. Good luck!

Lee keeps spamming with his web site. That is ALL he is here for. A member for 7 years and ALL he posts is that information. NOT all accurate. He never responds and has only made 39 SPAM posts

Excal from what I have seen is very good on small gold Better than my cz-21 sad to say that.... On DRY sand though CZ-21 hands down... But my uncles excal hit a 10k gold ring I have at 5 or 6" in wet sand even with a fast sweep. My cz-21 full sesitivity could not touch it, could not PP it could not hit it in All Metal... But dry Sand CZ-21 hit it at15" EZ where the excal didnt get anything. As far as the PI machines I do not know I havent used one.

Hmmmm...that is not the experience I have had with Lee?!? He is a long time detectorist and always been helpful. Guess his post was removed due to the links in it??

Jamie,
Buy either one, then find enough loot to buy the other.
Personally I use the Infinium with the 10X14 Mono coil at So California beaches.
Just get started and have fun.
