Played around with the 10"x14" excellerator search coil on wifey's Ace 250 over the past week or so. Found these at the beach. Watch found in a volley ball court area on the beach. Others found along towel line. All in dry sand. I'm amazed at the accuracy of depth reading. My 5" excellerator for GTI 2500 doesn't give any depth reading. This 10"x14" excellerator for the Ace 250 really likes bottle caps, but this is the case with all double"D"s. Over all, I am quite pleased with this search coil. Easy to pinpoint. Excellent depth and discrimination capabilities. Not too heavy. It's ALOT lighter than the Garrett 10"x14" double"D"s that go on the LS, GTI and CX. Oh yeah, and I love how the coil cover conforms to the shape of the search coil. In other words, the open spaces on the search coil are open on the coil cover as well. As opposed to the Garrett 10"x14" coil covers, which are solid on the bottom, like a plate. I had alot of fun with it!:bouncy: Happy Hunting!:)

Great stuff bud. Will be loking forward to more finds with that DD. Glad it's working out and they do have a love affair with bottlecaps as I have reported several times. Good luck.

Bill

Sweet finds!
I'm curious as to how you are finding the audio response on the excellerator coil. You mentioned that it has excellent discrimination capabilities. What I'm interested to know is; have you noticed any difference in the width of the signals compared to the standard coil?
thanks.
Mick Evans.

After seeing your posts.......it almost appears that the ACE souped up works like a high end expensive detector!

Hey thanks guys!

Hey Uncle Willy, over the past week and a half, I literally found well over a hundred bottle caps(lost count)with it on the beach:detecting:

Hey Mick, you can tell that the signals are a bit more brief while using the double"D" coil. Especially while in pinpoint mode:)

John, you know that the Ace 250 is like a high end machine even without the excellerator coil:happy:

TN Girl, unfortunately it took a lickin' and it quit tickin'.

Thanks again! Happy Hunting!:)
