was the only thing I found yesterday besides the obvious trash near a forest way..
Unfortunately the rules here in Germany are rather rigorous if it comes to this kind of stuff, so no keeper and reported to the authorities.

nice find too bad you can't keep it what are they going to do with it?
 
Should be the remains of a "Sturmgewehr 44" from what I have seen.
Authorities have collected the item, ammunition will be removed, the rusty steel will be scrapped.
