Hello Gang. It's been a while since I have last posted. It has been a busy year for me. Not to much detecting in the spring or summer. Had a BIG honey DO list this summer! ha ha ha. Got back to detecting around the middle of Sept. Been just going back to one place in particular that dates to the 1840-50's. An old meeting camp around my way. I have found a few things in the past there with the X30 and the X705 with the stock coil, but now i have been doing it again(beating a dead horse with a stick) with the X705 with the 3kHz cc and the 6inch dd coil. I do one area very slowly with each coil. Silver with the 3kHz and gold and nickles with the dd coil. Its been working out very good for me. Randy, thanks again for giving me the chance to win your book last winter! I read it thoroughly and it has only helped me to become a more understanding and better metal detectorist! Also kudos to TomB for taking the time to convince me to get the 3kHz cc coil. Huge help in my finding stuff that others have missed. Most of the stuff i have been finding is a bit deeper than I normally find it. Really soft signals at first and the signals were a little bouncy till I made the first dig then the signals seemed to level out to those 38's for the dimes and 10's for the rings. Basically, i have been having fun! congrats to everyone Else's find and great questions and answers! I love this forum and the folks who belong to it! Here are a few links to over sized pics of some of my finds that last few months. Found about a half dozen IH's also (no 1877 club for me yet) and just this morning found a very crusty 1864 2 cent piece ( in olive oil right now). Happy hunting all and happy thanksgiving.P.S.- Anybody have a clue what the Hallmark in the wedding band is? This ring is old for sure. Had to did under a 4inch round pine tree root to get it. Same with the other smaller ring, deep. thanks.
