These are some of my finds from the last 2 weeks or so. I've been hunting some older places, a total of 4. There is a 1919s merc,1936 merc,1943 merc and a 1946 rosie. Also a no date Buffalo, 1943P war nickel and a1947 nickel. A 1905 Indian Head Penny and one of my favorites to find a Tootsie car! I'm building up a decent collection of those! Also an assortment of wheats and a thimble. Found close to 4 dollars in clad also! Been havin some fun hope everyone else is too!! HH J.B.[attachment 208267 DSCF4169.jpg]

Great finds!

Those Tootsie cars are also one of my favorite finds because often the area they are found in is almost certainly going to be a good place for both silver and wheats too! The last such place for me also produced a "36" Merc. and a sterling silver spoon.

Congrats. on the great finds Jack. Which older places are you hunting? I am stuck on this park in my area and have found some nice Indians and Silver but I fear that I am draining it dry because my good finds are fewer and far between. Would like to find some other places to hunt besides Tot lots, etc.
Thanks
Chuckciao

Thanks for the comments! As far as the older places to hunt I have access to older plat maps for my area. It will tell me the general area to look for the older homes. Plus I know some people that have old houses. Just gotta get permission. Sometimes they know people with old houses too. The place you can find old maps is at Historic Map Works.com. Just hit the search tab and type in your county and your state. Then scroll down to find the year or years you want to look at. It might be located at the bottom of the page, mine is.You might want to register first but you don't have to. Good Luck! HH J.B.
