Didn't plan on detecting today because it was windy and pouring rain. Well, fortunately for me, it stopped raining around 2:30.
I jumped in my truck and headed out to dig up some trash in hopes of maybe uncovering an old coin that I've missed in past years.
Then there was a change of plans because of the downed tree and power lines blocking my route
I turned around and headed for an old Grange hall 5 miles in the opposite direction. I've detected this place several times. I've found a buffalo, wheaties, and a couple 40's silvers over the years. Much the same as most of my favorite places, this place has lots of trash
Like my last two outings that I didn't post here (because there wasn't much worth seeing
), I wasn't expecting to find much.
Shortly after beginning, I dug a wheatie. A while later I got a decent penny hit and saw this.

YES!!! .... A gold..................... CRAP!!! A FAKE gold ring

Later on, the MXT indicated there was a penny under the coil. When the dirt covered disk was in my hands, I wiped the soil off of the wheatie and saw this.

That's no wheatie
It's a 1905s Barber dime
I continued into the thick trash, and was just diggin anything that sounded ok. I got another crap ring and more garbage. Then I got a signal that was bouncing around, but had some good sounds in between the rust. I was suprised to see this pop out.

A no-date buffalo.
I stuck the probe back in the hole and was happy when it sounded off again. There was a 1914d Barber dime and a 1927 Merc along with the buffalo ( and rust
).
I'd post the pics... but with 6 pics max, I gotta edit somewhere
Here are the junk rings, wheaties, and silvers. Oh, I got the top of a button too.
