Actually it was a pretty straightforward post process.
Got the photo at a local ribfest ... in the tents they were selling the usual junky items and I found this on top of what looked like a staff or something. I just did a very quick job at changing the background to black (should have spent more time as it's kind of sloppy in this photo as I was playing around) and added little glowing eye balls in the eye sockets.
Thought it looked interesting.
