I'm not sure about the lead but maybe the square thingy was used for weighting fish nets?

You found a Standing Liberty Quarter with a readable date I see. Those are hard to come by in the older years and even when they changed the designs a bit. What year is the Merc that has the D mint mark on the back of it? I just hope it isn't the 1916-d since it is in bad shape. Very nice assortment of finds! Thanks for the Pic's of the Lake at night. I can see now why and how you can find so much stuff when you go out. It is Crystal Clear and would be great to detect in. Well, maybe not that easy with all the Rocks but still a great spot to spend some time at. You did great again even though you didn't get the Gold this time but you made up for it with all the other good finds you made. Continued success MrChile, Good Luck and HH.
