Something "fishy"

Finally thawed out enough to get out. Went to a boarded up house slated for demo for the new freeway exchange. I cant seem to win, someone else had hit it already. Plugs everywhere. Sometimes it pays to search the area any way. Got a dozen modern coins, 2 rings( 1 silver), a 50's wheaty and an 1881 or 91 Candian 5 cent piece. It's small silver but hey, its still silver. I'll take it any day.
Hope y'all are getting out. HH

" It's small silver but hey, its still silver. I'll take it any day. " That's a prize find, they call them fish scales and not too many ppl find them, WTG and congrat's on the other nice finds.

Just goes to prove...No one finds everything! You got some really nice finds there...the fish scale is cool.
It's been getting a lot more crowded on the beaches these days, more and more MDers to contend with than I have seen in past years.

I am amazed that in 40 years and living less than 100 miles from Canada, this 'fish scale' is a first for me.
Could it be the 705/Digger combo? Hmmmm.......

living that close to Canada I would say that you have a better chance at finding more then one.

a few years ago I found a 1911 Canadian 5 cent piece "fish scale" in a farm field that once had a 1RSH in southern IA and I didn't think I would ever find one of those coins.

I've only ever found one, but I expect I'll find more over time due to my close proximity to Canada.

Nicely done finding the fishy :) I found about 10 of 'em last year... but of course, I live in Canada! We get pretty excited about them here, too... they are pretty hard to find, actually... being so small.
