I know this idea was kicked around on the main forum some time ago, but I think an excellent way for many of us to better learn the Explorer would be if some of the pro's here would record a few samples of how various targets (possibly at various gain settings sound)...maybe also some video of the screen to show the SmartScreen and where the crosshairs jump around. This would indeed be a great learning tool. Any takers?

Thats a very good idea. I E Mailed one of the major treasure hunting writers some time ago and suggested that an audio cassette of various signals be provided with the next detector book. I have a hard time (as do others) trying to accurately describe the sounds my detector makes. Those sounds don't translate into english very well.
