Sov GT or SE Pro

Hello,
Which detector would you get for dry and wet sand SE Pro or Sov? And why? Have any of you gone from Sov to SE Pro to Etrac and back to Sov?

Thanks,

ToniSteve
On your 2nd question, here's my experience. I land hunt and have an old site that I found several hundred old coins, tokens, and
medals with an old xs2 sov. that I bought new in 2001. About 2 years ago I bought an exp. thinking that this site would be like
hunting virgin ground again. In 2 years I have only found 2 V nickles, 1 barber dime, and a few old wheats with the exp. I live in
kind of a remote area and there aren't any dealers nearby. This past week I went to the big city and almost impulse bought an
Etrac off the shelf. But before I got to the check out, I remembered how the feelings between the exp. and Etrac seemed to be
pretty mixed as to which one is better. So I returned the Etrac to the shelf, after all, I still have the sov., and it does just great.

Steve you have the Excal don't you? The Excal is just a Sov in a waterproof container...for the most part. The only advantage is the capability to change coils and make some finer adjustments. Everything I hear is that the Sov with the WOT is a major killer beach machine. But...you have to watch out for the salt air infiltration. Do it enough and the electronics inside will grow fuzz. At least that would be your experience on the foggy wet days on the Washington Coast. Maybe not in the warmer climates.
I used my Etrac on the Oregon coast, during the summer, with the 15X12 SEF. Don't think it did anybetter than Excal except I could cover more area. However, that might be a major consideration on the Washington coast. Jim

Thanks for the info Jim and Mondak!
