Sovereign GT

After using the new GT for a couple of months, I have come to the conclusion that it is superior to all previous Sovereigns. The features excel in what the original Sovereign was designed to do: search deep in highly mineralized soil and pick through tremendous amounts of ferrous trash and detect the nonferrous targets. The GT has the best of the old Sov and the newer Elite. We now have a choice of searching in Silent Search or Threshold; Noise Cancel; All Metal Pinpoint, Auto or manual Accu-Trak; Disc with Iron Mask on or off; Volume, Sensitivity and Threshold adjust minimal to maximum. Stability is better; Sensitivity is better (to smaller targets such as Gold jewelry or nuggets). The new DigiSearch meter is calibrated to 180 and I have found it to be more stable and accurate. Straight shaft with handle is better balanced, although I personally prefer the chest mount option. Pro packs are available as an option as is the new ID meter. As a fan of the Sovereign for over 13 years, the GT is hands down my favorite. Would appear to me Minelab is finally listening. Although I don't own a GT it is obvious the cosmetic design has a better ergonomic design for long hours of hunting and incorporated switches to give us our choice in facets to use. Nice looking unit and no doubt will be a big seller and competent unit for many.

Can't say if its the best I'll just have to see other sov veterans say it. But it sure is a pleasure to operate and with the meter on it and sounds combined its pretty darn accurate in indicating whats in the ground. I sure seem to be getting me some nice unusual finds , stuff I would have over looked with other detectors , not only coins. By the way I got a new doctor , showed me the error of my ways and doing much better , actually did about a 4 hr hunt the other day. Feel like I am 10 yrs younger.
