Sovereign XS depth for relic hunting

Considering a used XS to be used for CW relic hunting. The ground I hunt in is mostly mild mineralization....any feedback on depth for such as a 58 cal minie ball?

Never used an XS but many seem to say the various XS models were the best of the earlier Sovereign models. You might want to hunt in pin point mode. As deep as the Sovereign is in disc PP mode will shock you. Turn volume and sensitivity to full blast. You can often tell iron by the fuzzy approach/exit to the target or by one way hits. Depth can still be judged as the audio is still modulated in PP mode. Although you say the minerals aren't bad, it'll also cut through minerals than even the outstanding ability of disc on BBS machines has issues with in some cases.

Might also look into a 12x10, 13" Ultimate, 15x12, or WOT to push depths to the max and for better coverage over large fields.

I own an XS _Pro, just detect slow and listen for some faint signals, then all the Good signals. The picture enclosed is from Folly Beach,SC
