I have a chance on buying a sovergn xs2 pro .... Anyone have any idea on pricess ? .... machine is in awsome condition

Excellent Machine. I will never sell mine, Very deep workhorse. Price about $350 no meter-400 with meter.I waterproofed mine with external PP switch and you need to decide if you want Lipos mods or use battery connector with single batteries. There are other after market batteries. What is the asking price?

Garrett ace 350......NO comparison Try 425 if its a no go

I tracked Sovereign sales last year for several months on *-bay. Older Sovereigns were $275-300+, XS-2a Pro's were averaging around $325-75. The Elite's were selling for $450+, GT's selling for $500+ in excellent cond. More money depending on condition and battery pack type. Meters and/or any extra coils brought another $50 or so.

A lot of these detectors were being sold with accessories making them pretty good deals. Also, sales were pretty strong due to limited availability of new GT's while Minelab was going thru their moving difficulties.

With this price increase of the GT's coming up, I would guess that used sales will be stronger than normal.

400 is a bit high, especially with no accessories. Also the older BBS style coils were boat anchors, a lot heavier then other coils available and slightly lacking in performance. I wouldn't buy a XS2 pro for anymore then 350. They pop up quite a bit on various forums for sale in the 350 range. Adding a used meter and a newer coil will push you over the $500 mark which can get you a used GT which is a much better machine. I personally would pass, but it's up to you. Good luck with it either way!! HH.

The XS-2 is one of the better Sovereign's.Lot of factors to consider far as how much its worth.Stock with a BBS coil,S rod asm. and alkaline pack and in good condition 350.00. Some variables S-1 probe add 75.00,Tornado coil either one add 75.00,rechargeable battery and pack add 30.00 and after market rod asm add 25.00.Used for any period of the time on a salt water beach walk away from the deal.Seller made his own mods on box bring headphones with a 1/4 inch jack insert and remove, if corner of face plate lifts up subtract 60.00 from offer. You could write a book about buying used Sovereign these are just a few pointer's. Good Luck

There is a Sov XS now on thetreasuredepot for $315 and includes the 8" coinsearch coil which I'm told hits harder on targets then any other coil for them....

My opinion the Coinsearch coil works great, but from my experience in the field a 800 BBS and Tornado coil will give the best crisp or sharper signal..
