Speed in HI-PRO

I'm not sure what your question is, but I use Hi Pro and I use two different Recovery Delay speeds, 80 for fairly clean ground for the deeper targets and 45 for trashy ground for better separation.

I think he is talking about the tracking speed being set to 50. I can only say that that is the way Bob, who wrote Hi Pro, likes it. I usually run it at 20 in my Hi Pro or with the track locked. Rob.

For Carl:

Hi Carl! In which way you set the Ground Tracking Speed in the default programs of V3i?
In some programs this parameter is set at 25, in other at 50. I don't understand the rule that you use for decide this.
Thank you!

The speeds were set by people to be a good starting point. As I said before, Bob, not Carl setup the HI PRO program. Carl didn't write the programs. The HI Pro program with the tracking speed of 50 was not the average program, it was for the more experienced user. This program also has the base threshold at 65 while the others are at 90. Why because Bob likes to see more information like screen smears. The other programs use a less cluttered screen. It also doesn't use visual reject like most of the other programs. You need to use the following information to set your tracking speed. There is no answer to which speed you should use.

If you are seeing it track up as much as track down), then it's probably staying pretty consistent. Tracking never stops. It's always tracking. The speed changes how long it will take to get to the new ground level. If you have slowly changing ground, setting your track speed slower would keep it more stable. If you have ground that's changing all over the place, set it up for a faster speed. Go into pinpoint to check your ground setting and if you don't hear much audio change), then it's probably just fine. If you are hearing too much audio change you probably need to adjust your speed.
