Spoon Ring Question?

Oakman404

Active member
I hit silver in my back yard again! I found my second silver spoon. Does anyone know how to make a spoon ring? Do I a special tool, do I have to heat the spoon?

You don't heat the spoon. All you really need is a ring mandrel or a steel pipe of the required diameter and a plastic mallet or other soft faced hammer. Cut your desired length, throw away the spoon or fork portion. Put the smallest aspect end of the handle on the mandrel, and start hammering. Keep feeding more to get it more cylindrical and tuck it underneath and maintain the process. Do this over a block of wood so as to not damage the ring during this process. Sand and polish it and it is DONE!

Below are some of the ones I have made.....
