I can't guess how many years the black one has served. Had to send it one time for repairs, came back brand new. Gonna put a little tape over the speaker holes on this new one. Always mud hunting.
 
I had my original Propointer AT "carrot" for a long time before it gave up the Ghost. I'm on number 2.

I have been using the carrot for about 4 years with no problems. I like being able to vary the sensitivity.
