SSP-3000

The SSP-3000 is a PI with a built in magnetometer. Follow the link and you can download the operating manual. The mag does not seem to work at the detectors maximum depth. Has anyone any ideas what type of mag may be being used? It is housed inside the search coil if that gives anyone a clue.

Hi Dave
The advertising for this PI/Mag says "Full iron discrimination with LED indicator with naturally eliminate hot rocks, pull tabs and trash". Well I guess this is true if the PI is not sensitive enough to detect pull tabs and the Mag certainly won't.
These folks clearly need to state the sensitivity/depth of known items for both the Mag and the PI.

It would certainly be interesting to try one of these units but the cost is a bit steep and would it be any better than the minelab sd/gp detectors? Wish i had heaps of money to try all these new detectors. Need a super detector to find a big nugget to buy new detectors to find bigger nuggets <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">
