In December I collected a nice silver standing liberty, 1945 then this February I found another one. Both were 7" down and next to a fence post. Ordinarily I would not be bragging like this but I thought a picture is worth, well, you know, a lot of words. I pasted the fence posts up more than once and after finding the first one I did a quick search but you know, what are the odds. So, one day this month I thought why not, nice day and lots of fence posts. I found a penny a bottle cap (of course) and then, and then, 20 minutes into the hunt -- bingo -- dig, dig, dig and I see the rim bright as a light 7" down just like the previous one. Hunt to fence post boys. The first one was right nest, with in a couple of inches from the post, 7" down, the second one was 20 yards from the first, about 8" out from the post, both right in the rail line and 7" down. Both seemed to be turned up at a 45 degree angle and the signal 87-91, I actually thought I was digging an old rusty bottle cap. This hated bottle cap turned out to be silver. I know, I know, bottle caps with lower numbers, right? Well not in my area, those in the ground 3" or more read really good as quarters, the fresh bottle cap read lower, and those within the first inch pretend to be quarters about half a the time -- that is for me. But these two silvers will keep me digging those blasted things. Peace and good hunting, ya'all
