HI, all:
Got my E-Trac last Thursday. Have used it every day since, trying to learn what it's telling me. Yesterday I boosted the sensitivity a little. I got a couple of iffy signals, tested it in QuickMask (full screen). Got enough of a good signal, mixed in with the other signals to give it a go. Pulled a penny out of some trash. Today, I did the same thing on a couple more signals. Really starting to feel comfortable with this beast. Got a pretty good nickle signal, today, dug a plug and pulled out a bottle cap. Was a little surprised. Put the plug back, stood up and swung the coil over the same spot and still had a good signal. Pulled the plug out and found a nickle in the bottom of the hole. It does work well in trash. I'm hunting an old school yard a few blocks from my house. I've hunted it to death several times. In front of the school is a 50' by 100' area surrounded by sidewalks. The center is fairly clean, but around the sidewalks is trashy. I've hunted the patch twice in the past three years, covering it completely. The last time was this past Spring with a high quality machine. Today, I found 15 coins I had missed. Most were two to four inches deep. The deepest was a six inch deep nickle. I haven't hit any old coins yet, but I know I will with this machine. The best find today was in a corner where two sidewalks meet. I found a silver locket that opens up to hold two pictures. I had missed it two times before, but the E-Trac pulled it out. Also pictured is a nice 1943D Silver Quarter I found Sunday along a city sidewalk. The more I use the E-Trac, the more I like it.
Thanks for looking and keep on diggin'
