Sterling Chompers - This weeks Finds

Hey there fellow Minelab'ers

Had a chance to get out for a few hours a couple times this week. Nothing too exciting, but it has been an odd last couple weeks. Found a Skull and Crossbones pendant last week. This week I find a sterling silver lower jaw to some sort of skull ?? Found at a local park I stop by when I don't have anywhere else better to hunt. There is a hole on either side of the jaw where it would pivot on a post. The teeth on this little set of chompers are pretty sharp too. Target was only 4" deep but had that high pitched sweet sound of silver. Wasn't sure what I was getting into, but decided to check it out anyway. Glad I did.

Also found a dateless Buffalo nickel, assorted wheaties from the 40's and 50's, a pair of '43-D and -S Merc' dimes and a couple of local tokens. I also found several lead bullets this week. Pictured a couple in the photo. Noticeable is the lack of older coins. ?? Didn't find anything this week earlier than the '40's.

Good luck out there.

Rich

Congratulations on the finds! I enjoyed reading your story. I hope someone can shed some light on your "dentures".

Im guessing that in some halloween past some vampire lost his grille. Kid these days!! LOL . Hi Rich, the parks here are really not all that old unless you identify the ones that have been around from the pionner times and there are not many from then that still are in the same place. Fun finds though...I got quite a few of those bus tokens too. However any day with a Merc find is a great day detecting.

Glad your have fun and good luck,
